I’ve been wanting these five finger shoes for a while now, and I just might add them to my cart 🛒

Before you come at me, and tell me “these are the ugliest shoes [you’ve] ever seen.” I’m going to remind you that these beauties exist ⬇️ .

Now that we’ve realized these aren’t the worst shoes in the world, I’m going to explain why I want them.

Maybe you’ll want them too!

Definitely not sponsored by Vibram, but honey, if you’re out there, I’d be willing to review some of your shoes for the FREE.99.

My only condition is that I can keep at least one pair. 🙏

Anyways, since I’ve gotten into Calisthenics and taking better care of my body and mind, these shoes have started to make more and more sense.

Like YOU 🫵 … I didn’t always want these shoes.

Shocking, I know. I actually saw shoes like these in high school and college, and I kinda judged the people wearing them in my head. “That’s so weird,” I would think. Or “why would anybody wear those?

I just didn’t get it back then.

I was also the type to be swayed by trends and influencers because I’ve never been BIG on fashion. I still don’t even have a personal style yet 🤷‍♀️, but I do know these shoes would fit into it.

Growing up, I was the type of kid to be running 🏃‍♀️ barefoot in the neighborhood. Not gonna lie, it felt great! Hearing my feet slap against the pavement as my friends chased me, made me think I was Usain Bolt, before Usain Bolt became famous.

I’m not going to bring up the bad times (screw you sharp rocks). 🤐

But, I’ve always known that walking barefoot is a good thing. Unfortunately society (my parents), thought otherwise. And that’s why, I have shoes on my feet at this very moment.

I’ve seen studies and talks about grounding, which is “fancy talk,” for walking barefoot outside in nature. What they’ve found, is your body/nervous system feels grounded or calm when standing barefoot in the grass. On top of that, walking barefoot allows you to work out different parts of your foot, which you might not have been able to do with clunky shoes that limit your range of motion.

Shoes have also been shown to smoosh our feet. Over time, our toes can become crooked and misaligned like teeth. And it kind of makes sense, because most shoes are tight and pointy, never following the shape of our toes.

The only shoes I’ve ever liked, where my track shoes because they were light, airy, and comfortable. I can’t wear them though, due to the metal spikes. 😒

Little by little, I’ve been convincing myself that these shoes are worth it.

If you’re thinking, “if shoes bother you so much, why don’t you just walk around barefoot for free?”I do that already. For me it does make a difference, however I can only walk barefoot so many places:

3 to be exact.

  1. Inside my house

  2. The beach

  3. In the grass at a park

I once went barefoot in my backyard and that was a BIG mistake! We have tiles, and as I worked out barefoot, in the middle of the day, I soon realized my feet were stinging. I didn’t think too much of it, because I expected it from the heat, but I tried to stay out as long as possible because “it didn’t hurt too bad”. 🤦

It only took a couple hours for the blisters to form. 😅

Almost a week for the blisters to stop hurting.

And 1-2 weeks so that I could walk properly because every step stung.

NEVER…DOING…THAT… AGAIN….

And if I walk barefoot down the street now, there’s no telling what I’d step on. 😬

At least for me, the happiest times of my life - where I felt the most balanced, calm, and free - was when I was outside and running barefoot.

That’s what I feel these shoes embody.

  • Childhood

  • Freedom

  • Nature

  • Comfort

  • and Balance.

These are the things, I’m trying to bring back into my life. And, I’m hoping these shoes will help with that, while keeping my feet protected. 👣

On top of that this business seems to care about sustainability and even has an option to repair your shoes after long use. The project is called "Repair if you Care,” with the aim of encouraging consumers to reuse and repair their footwear. It seems that they’ll repair any shoe you give them.

So… do you think I should get them 👀 ???
